Welcome to CEOCOR 2018
It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2018 CEOCOR Congress. CEOCOR, founded in 1956, is an international scientific non-profit association dealing with corrosion and protection of pipes and pipeline systems. The UK Institute of Corrosion will host the 2018 CEOCOR Congress in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Stratford-Upon-Avon is a medieval market town in the centre of England, and the 16th century birthplace of William Shakespeare, possibly the most famous writer in the English language. Shakespeare is known for his sonnets and plays, such as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Hamlet’. The Royal Shakespeare Company performs his plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the adjacent Swan Theatre, on the banks of the River Avon. There are many fantastic areas of Stratford-upon-Avon to explore, which is why visitors flock back year after year to discover more. From quaint side streets with unique and individual shops, to open parklands along the river, there’s something for everyone.
The Congress will include a Partner’s Programme, that will Introduce you to many of the local features, including visits to Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, behind the scenes at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and to a nearby stately home.
Countdown to CEOCOR 2018
The congress consists of about 40 high level technical presentations.
CEOCOR is structured into 2 commissions whose aims are the following:
Commission 1 – Internal corrosion in water and waste water pipe systems deals with the interaction between transported or stored water and metallic, cement based or polymeric materials. Such interaction may lead to the deterioration of the materials themselves and/or a lowering in the quality of the transported water.
Commission 2 – External corrosion and cathodic protection in water, gas and oil pipeline systems deals with external corrosion and cathodic protection against corrosion as well as coatings and electrical interference. The field of activities covers, amongst others, corrosion by alternating and direct stray currents, and the selection and evaluation criteria for external coatings.
